Lily's 1st birthday dinner was last night. We did the Korean fortune telling game -- a selection of objects are placed in front of the child, and what she picks is what she will be in the future. We couldn't remember what the traditional objects were, aside from thread for long life and money for riches, so I made the rest up. Along with the thread and cash were displayed for Lily's perusal: a figurine of a mother with a baby & child (happy home life); paint brush (creative life); a plaster cast of my teeth (healing profession); a refrigerator magnet of the hindu god Krishna (a leader/spiritual life); a computer mouse (technology); and a pen (intellectual life). Lily went straight for the Krishna magnet, then the money, then the mouse. So obviously she's going to become a religious fundamentalist who raises cash by spamming.
